Our upcoming events 2024

Saturday 10 August

Building boat and plane kits for the Hobart Show from 9am to noon

Members gather to produce the components of the toy boat and plane kits for the Hobart Show in October each year. This is a great way to hone your skills and get signed off on the use of Guild equipment while contributing to one of the only free events at the Hobart Show. Children of all ages and skills get to prepare and nail together a free wood toy, with the assistance of our members. Get involved, you will not regret it.

Tuesday 13 August

Annual General Meeting and monthly general meeting from 7.00pm to 9.00pm

The Annual General meeting will be held in the classroom upstairs.

This will be followed by the monthly general meeting of members and features a brief update of Guild business followed by a show and tell of members work, a raffle for 2 woodworking item prizes and a presentation and/or demonstration of interest. The members then enjoy a cuppa and time to talk about their projects or anything else they choose.

Saturday 17 August

Open woodturning from 9am to noon.

The Guild’s 5 wood lathes will be available for woodturning members to use for their own projects and benefit from interaction with other likeminded members. Share, compare, discuss and learn
